Telehealth peer support allows you to connect with a trained PRM peer support specialist from a safe, private location using a secure video or phone platform. Sessions follow the same person-centered, recovery-oriented approach as in-person support.
All telehealth sessions are conducted through a BAA-compliant telehealth vendor that meets HIPAA security and privacy requirements.
Requirements for Telehealth Sessions
Reliable Device
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone.
Private Location
A quiet, private space where you won't be overheard during your session.
Location Verification
Your physical location is verified at the start of each session for safety and compliance.
Identity Verification
Brief identity verification ensures your safety and the security of your session.
Emergency Contact
A local emergency contact and emergency plan are confirmed before your first session.
Telehealth Privacy Tips
- Use a private room with a closed door when possible.
- Use headphones or earbuds for audio privacy.
- Avoid public Wi-Fi — use a secure, private connection.
- Do not share your session link with anyone.
- Close other apps and browser tabs during your session.
- Sessions are never recorded unless you provide explicit written consent.
